Prof YU Yongding
Director of Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS)
Prof Yu Yongding received his master degree in economics from the Graduate School of CASS and doctorate degree from the University of Oxford. Apart from taking the role of Director-General at IWEP of CASS, Prof Yu is also the academician of CASS, a member of National Advisory Board of National Reform and Development Commission of PRC on the 11th Five-Year Plan and the President of the China Society of World Economics. In 2004-06, he served as a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of People’s Bank of China. Prof Yu is the author, co-author and editor for more than 10 books, and has published more than 100 papers on macroeconomics, world economy, and other subjects in various academic journals. He is also the winner of 2000-2005 Sun Yefang Prize in Economics. |

Dr TANG Min
Deputy Secretary General, China
Development Research Foundation of the Development Research
Center
Dr Tang Min is the Deputy Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation of the Development Research Center of the State Council, in charge of research work of the foundation including macroeconomic, financial reform, energy conservation and climate change, and social development. He was formerly the Chief Economist and Deputy Resident Representative in China at Asian Development Bank (ADB), where he was mainly responsible of administration works of the Resident Mission, leading country programming, country strategy implementation, energy conservation, private sector operation, and drafting economic and sector reports, covering areas of macroeconomic analyses, financial reforms. Dr Tang received his bachelor degree in Wuhan University and pursued his master and doctorate degrees in International Trade and Finance, Economics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne. Dr Tang has published more than 100 articles in various journals. Some of the famous articles are “Growth Triangles in Asia-A New Approach to Regional Economic Cooperation” and “Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle: Theory to Practice”.

Dr ZUO Xiaolei

Dr Zuo Xiaolei graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with PhD in International Finance and Econometrics. She studied in School of Statistics and Economics, Paris, France in 1984. She was a lecturer of the National University of Singapore from 1992-1997 and an associate professor in the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines from 1997-2001. Since 2001, she joined China Galaxy Securities Company Ltd, the largest investment bank in China as Chief Economist. She has extensive publications in the academic studies as well as policy analysis.

Dr LU Tong
Director of
Research Section of Multinational Corporations, Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences
Dr Lu Tong received
her master and doctorate degrees in Economics from the
Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
She has been a visiting scholar at Dartmouth College,
USA and a senior visiting scholar at Business School of
University of Strathclyde UK. Apart from a professor at
IWEP, she is also a founder and director of Chinese Center
for Corporate Governance (CCCG). Dr Lu is a member of
Institute of Director East Asia Net, the deputy secretary-general
of China Business Sector Advisory Group, and a member
of Shanghai Stock Exchange Corporate Governance Advisory
Committee. Besides, she also serves as an advisor and
a training expert on corporate governance for a number
of Chinese companies. Apart from the board member of CSR
committee in Sino-Chem Group company, Dr Lu is also the
commissioner of Small and Media Shareholers Protection
Commission as well as the senior consultant for “Directors
& Board” magazine.

Mr WANG Wei
Chairman, China Mergers & Acquisitions Association (CMAA)
Mr Wang Wei is currently the Chairman of CMAA and founder of China M&A Group, and was formerly the Executive Vice President of China Southern Securities Co. Ltd., one of the top State-owned national investment banking institutions. He has also worked in many leading corporations such as Nomura Security Co. Ltd. in Tokyo, World Bank in Washington D.C. and Chase Bank in New York. Mr Wang has rich and dynamic experiences in corporate finance, M&A and IPO operations. He has organized and supervised IPO underwritings for over 40 Chinese companies in both domestic and overseas markets. He is a financial consultant on restructuring, financing, M&A and IPO for many leading companies in China. Mr Wang also serves as independent director and board member in several listed companies as well as the economic advisor for several ministerial and provincial governments in China. Mr Wang received his doctorate degree in economics in Fordham University, US and he has delivered lectures on fund management, M&A, investment banking and corporate restructuring in renowned universities including CEIBS, Tsinghua University and Yale University. Mr Wang has been named as ‘Top Five Chinese investment bankers’ by Talent Magazine in 2003, ‘The People for Public Interest’ by South China magazine in 2005, ‘The Most Influential Independent Director’ by the Board magazine in 2006 and ‘The Most Influential Investment Banker’ by China Finance Web in 2006. He is also selected as a member of Shanghai Stock Exchange Corporate Governance Advisory Committee in 2007.

Dr JIA Kang
Director of the Institute for Fiscal Science Research, Ministry of Finance
Dr Jia Kang is currently the Director and Research Fellow of the Institute for Fiscal Science Research, Ministry of Finance of China. He is also a doctoral supervisor, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General for China Public Finance Society, Vice Chairman for the Senior Technical Title Examining Committee of the Ministry of Finance, Executive Director for National Debt Association of China, Editor-in-Chief of Public Finance Research(Monthly), Special-invested Expert of the People’s Government of Beijing and Shanghai Municipality, Advisor of the People’s Government of Fujian and Anhui Province. Besides, he is a guest Professor of the Renmin University of China, National Institute of Administration, Xiamen University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. He was appraised as an academic leader at high level for the State Project “Tens of Thousands of Talents” and was chosen as a visiting scholar in the Heinz Fellowship Program at University of Pittsburgh, USA. He was involved in a lot of international and domestic research programs and has published dozens of books and hundreds of thesis. In 2002 to 2007, Dr Jia attended the economic symposiums every year at the invitations of the former premier Zhu Rongji, the Premier Wen Jiabao, and Party Secretary General Hu Jintao. Hence, he is considered as one of the “Advisors for Decision-making by the Central Authorities”. He is also a winner of SunYefang Prize of Economics as well as the Commissioner of the national 11th 5-year plan Expert Committee.
